International Construction

In 2020 Undiscovered Workplace was appointed as the move management company to help prepare their clients offices for the return to work, post COVID-19.

The International construction company (which cannot be named) had a floor plate of 188 desk positions and they were looking to reduce this to 94 desk positions with a complete re-design of their office floor. We managed to utilise the existing desk components to make up 42no back to back desks and 10no single desks. We relocated the rest of the desks along with 94no task chairs to their storage facility. All the desktop IT was recommissioned onto the reconfigured desks.

Project Goals:

  • To provide a safe working environment for their employees to return to post-COVID-19
  • To provide a flexible working environment for their employees
  • To create a one-way route for employees to reduce congestion and passing along corridors
  • To reduce their desk space by 50% and build a more flexible space for working

Services We Supplied:

  • Full furniture audit of their current floor plate
  • Crate supply and management
  • Desktop IT decom and recom and packing services
  • Removal of furniture to their storage facility
  • Internal reconfiguration of the office

Project Outcome:

The project was completed on time and to budget. We saved the client money by re-using existing furniture. The company now operates its occupancy at 50% of its maximum to enable a safe working environment should their employees want the option to work from the office.  The flexible workspace creates a more agile working environment with the greater use of technology.
