HEALTH AND SAFETY

We’ve adapted our operating procedures to include COVID-19 whilst working on projects. This supports our Risk Assessment and Method Statement whilst carrying out work in buildings, offices, factories, warehouses and schools. This is available upon request.

We do not allow any member of staff returning to work who do not feel comfortable or safe doing so. Implementing safe procedures gives confidence to all our stakeholders we take H&S seriously.  We’ve taken advice from the Government, Health & Safety Executive and the Construction Council which helped us prepare our return to the new ‘normal’ of working.

The safety and wellbeing of our staff, clients and the general public come first, therefore we have taken the necessary steps to ensure we do everything we can to protect our stakeholders.

BEFORE ANY MEMBER OF STAFF CAN RETURN TO WORK, WE ASK THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:

  1. Have you been ill in the last 14 days showing signs of COVID-19 or have you had the virus?

  2. Have you been in contact with anyone in the last 14 days who either has COVID-19 symptoms or tested positive for COVID-19?

  3. Do you have a temperature of 37.8 degrees or higher, or have you in the last 7 days?

  4. Are you listed as a vulnerable worker who is more likely to contract the virus?

We complete regular temperature checking with our staff.

THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES ARE FOLLOWED:
  • Depending on the size of the team we stagger start and finish times on site

  • Where appropriate we ensure only 2 persons travel in a vehicle at a time ensuring the windows are open to circulate the air

  • When arriving on-site and signing in we follow the companies operating procedures and ensure all members of staff wait with the physical distance of 2 meters apart

  • Each member of staff wears the correct PPE whilst on site

  • Only one person in the lift

  • To minimise the risk of contamination we do not print job sheets or floor plans before arriving on site. These are sent to our Supervisor or Project Manager electronically, we advise our clients to have a copy of the floor plan ready for our team when they arrive on site. Job sheets are sent electronically for the customer to sign once the move has completed

  • Notification to the client shall be made if a member of our staff contracts the virus within 14 days of the move completing

  • Inventories for storage are completed in the warehouse after collection and then emailed within 72 hours of receiving the goods

  • All staff bring their water bottle for use, we ask our clients to provide our teams with access to drinking water

  • We ask our clients to ensure our teams have access to hot water and soap to enable our team to wash their hands

  • No staff eat or bring food onto the client's premises

  • No member of our staff pack kitchen equipment to reduce the risk of contamination

  • No member of our staff pack employees personal desk contents

  • All desks should be clear and free of paperwork or any other items on the desk before the moving team arriving

  • All crates and cages used on site are clean and label-free, they are also sanitized after each use

  • Our staff packing filing into crates always wear gloves.
